Living Room Games: Party Games for the Big Screen

livingroom.games turns a TV into a game-show stage and every phone into the controller. We built it as a web app and an Android app from one unified codebase, with iOS and Steam to follow, and every platform's builds, tests, and deployments run through fully automated CI/CD.

✦ Product overview

A game night that runs on any screen

Living Room Games is a working showcase of how we build software. One host screen runs the game board, music, and timers. Everyone else joins from their phone with a 4-letter code or a QR scan, with no installs, accounts, or passwords. Try it at livingroom.games.

✦ How it plays

From couch to game show in under a minute

1

Open the game board on the TV

Use a smart TV, a laptop plugged into the TV, or a tablet on the coffee table. It works with a TV remote or a mouse.

2

Join from any phone

Players type the 4-letter room code or scan the QR code with their camera. No app store, no sign-up.

3

Play, then switch games

Pick a game and an audience (Kids, Teens, Adults, or Family) and keep switching all night without anyone rejoining.

✦ The games

Four games, one room code

Made for kids, teens, parents, and grandparents, with family-safe prompts in Kids and Family modes.

Family Trivia

Answer fast against the studio clock. Quicker correct answers score more points.

✦ Software development

One codebase, every platform

Living Room Games is written once. The web app and the Android app are built from the same unified codebase, and the iOS and Steam versions will be too. A fix or a new game ships everywhere at the same time, without a separate team or code fork per platform.

  • Shared game logic, content, and UI across platforms
  • Real-time play between one host screen and up to 8 phones
  • Designed for TV remotes, mice, and touchscreens
