Pucks.pro is our own hockey training business. It sells self-paced training challenges and gear through a Shopify storefront, then delivers every challenge on train.pucks.pro, a dedicated Moodle training site. Buying and training feel like one product, and enrollment happens automatically.
Pucks.pro is our own product, and it shows how we connect commerce and learning into one system. Players and coaches shop at pucks.pro, and their challenges show up ready to go at train.pucks.pro. Each platform does the job it is best at, and automation removes the hand-off in between.
pucks.pro on Shopify: challenges, gear, checkout
train.pucks.pro on Moodle: drills, logs, progress
Google, Microsoft, or username and password
Account creation and enrollment, automated after purchase
Each challenge is a product in the Shopify catalog and a structured program in Moodle. Physical gear like Inglasco pucks and Howies tape sells alongside them in the same cart.
A 10-week shooting program: 100 shots a day, five days a week, with a different shot type to master each week.
Daily stickhandling work that builds control and agility, logged session by session.
Coaches supply the drills and the duration, up to a full season, and Pucks.pro builds it into an online program for their team.
The customer sees one product. Behind it, Shopify handles commerce, Moodle handles training, and an automated integration keeps the two in step.
1
The Shopify storefront carries the full catalog: training challenges, team programs, and everyday gear, with Canadian pricing, promotions, and team discounts. Shopify does what it does best: merchandising, checkout, and payments.
2
A paid order triggers the integration. It creates the player's training account if needed and enrolls them in the right challenge on the Moodle site. Nobody on the Pucks.pro team copies names between systems.
3
Players sign in with Google, Microsoft, or a password and start training. The Moodle site delivers the drills and videos, records every session, and tracks progress for the player and the team.
Every step after the click is automated.
The Moodle site is tuned for one job: making daily practice easy to log and satisfying to track.
Players record each session in seconds, building a progression log over the length of the challenge.
Group challenges show the team's combined progress toward a shared target as a circle graph.
Team and overall leaderboards keep players competing and give coaches an instant view of who is putting in the work.
Videos on proper shooting technique show players exactly what to practise before they head outside.
Google and Microsoft sign-in mean no new password to remember, which matters for young players and busy parents.
Training logs and leaderboards let coaches follow every player's progress from one place.
